Teresa Mason has over 30 years of diversified experience.

 

Prior to joining the Bronx District Attorney’s Office as Chief of Staff, Ms. Mason was a partner in a law firm.  Before joining the firm, she was Vice President of Health Policy for Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation.

 

Prior to this role, Ms. Mason served as Chief of Staff to the late Delaware Attorney General Joseph R. “Beau” Biden III, at the Delaware Department of Justice.  Before joining the Delaware Department of Justice, Ms. Mason served as Vice President of the Homeland Security Division for Systems Applications and Technology (SA-TECH), a professional services company specializing in providing operations and maintenance, program management and logistics support to a diverse client base.  

 

Before this assignment, Ms. Mason was appointed Executive Vice President at MBNA America Bank, N.A. (acquired by Bank of America).   Preceding her career with MBNA, Ms. Mason was appointed by Mayor Rudolph Giuliani as New York City’s 110th Sheriff, becoming the first woman in the history of the State and Country to serve as the Chief Civil Law Enforcement Officer for five counties.

 

 From 1982 to 1996, Ms. Mason held a number of government positions in New York City, including Deputy Bureau Chief for the Bronx District Attorney’s Office; Assistant Deputy Commissioner for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance and Special Counsel for Adjudication for the New York City Department of Finance.  

 

Ms. Mason graduated from St. John’s University and Howard University School of Law.  She was the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate of Law degree from St. John’s University in 2002.

 

Ms. Mason was elected to the Board of Trustees for St. John’s University and served as Secretary until 2017.  She has been active in community and professional organizations including: Delaware Humanities Forum, Special Olympics Delaware, Urban League, United Way and various Bar Associations.
